This week I am on the road, so this will be a very short post. The team continues toward Open Beta at a blistering pace, and we will be meeting to take some important decisions about the direction of the game in the middle of this week.
I will post an EU equipment update in the next few days, and also some exciting news about the progress of the next version of the game (aka APB 1.5), since it features big changes from the current version (including spawning and progression, and later also the new skill-rating methods)
PS - and watch out for post commentary by "fake Bjorn" - someone who has made an OpenID profile identical to my own.

but i think what they mean what they keep saying that they are working on open beta and moving closer to it
is that they are working on all the new stuff they'll be tossing in the open beta and are in the final stages of that
after which is should just be a matter of more stress testing and fixing all the bugs and balance issues that have been reported in CB so far
but dunno maybe they'll go ninjastyle and just gank us with the open beta out of nowhere in a few weeks time *takes cover from potential open beta ambush*

ReplyDeleteSorry but i'm really starting to call bullshit on the whole "stuck in customs" argument now. It's been weeks, if you were really concerned about the EU servers you would've send a man over to sort it out on the spot. No way they would've kept that in customs for so long if you had been on top of things.

once i made the mistake of ordering a cellphone from outside the EU and it got picked up in customs
ended up taking 2 months before i got it despite me calling them constantly and even driving 2 hours to their office which ended up not helping squad because of their stupidly slow processing systems
to top it all off i ended up having to pay a pretty steep customs fee because the place i bougth the phone from mislabeled the price ><
I've dealt with customs representing a company that imported shoes from the US. As the general public it can take ages but if you contact them representing a company and put pressure on them you can get things done a lot quicker.

anyways there are a lot of problem :
ReplyDelete- obeya is cheated, oca has no recoil, star shoot too fast, jg shoot too long etc
- Players kick other player from theirs scquad for him, ncie fairplay
- an enemy always spawn behind you
- when you clik for shoot, sometimes, nothing happen (maybe becasue i ahve 250 ping)
- 3vs5 or 3vs4 when you must transport a bag for exemple. as the unloock are down, it's just unfair and impossible to win. people take their car on the point. times for kill guys and destroys car, they have times to come back :)
......... i love this game, but not like this!

A friend of me was playing 30 mns and when I see the team balance and the difficulty of the game he just stopped APB Reloaded...
lol you wanna know whats worst? deciding to disable upgrades and keep matchmaking? matchmaking assumes you using higher level gear when it matches you 2v3 or 2v4 lol

I just hope that in the holiday I could play normally ..
Sigh I love it how 'faker Bjorn' risks messing things up for everyone, since basically the next step would be to turn on more formal identification for the blog (but then everyone would have to use an authenticated Gmail account to post, which could be a bigger PIA).

ReplyDeleteWell @Fat Boy, I dont know what customs you have dealt with, but with my company, EU Customs and Excise, they have kept electronic equipment from my company that I imported from america, for atleast 3 months, and it took a long while for our company to receive the equipment in the end.

ReplyDeleteyour wrong, i shipped something from the US about 4 weeks ago and customs held the item for over 10 days, that's 2 work weeks, and it's not the first time i have seen this happen, but i guess shipping internationally for years don't count with some of you.

Seeing as how long the wait has been that would of gave people hope. If the servers can't handle it, too bad. At least people would be in the game even if they were unable to move because of horrible ping.

ReplyDelete@bigweels: It's called a CLOSED beta for a reason. I guess it's down to luck if you get in. Can't hurt if you was a previous beta tester of APB I suppose, but that's just guesswork (I was in the first beta, so I suppose that was to my favour)
