To clarify - the patch itself (version 76) doesn't actually perform the Punkbuster update, it only changes our game so that it can use the update from the Punkbuster side. We are now waiting for PB to push the change live on their end, and once their systems have been updated as well, then we expect the stuttering issue to be resolved.
We expect this update to happen sometime overnight between Wednesday and Thursday PST (so Thursday morning in Europe).

We are now going live with version (76) of the game.
This build contains one specific fix - a Punkbuster time-lag issue that we have been observing which can make the game slow down for a few seconds every 20 or 30 seconds.
The team is additionally working a long series of other fixes as well, and I will update this page when those are live.
Also - at this point we have invited everyone who applied for Closed Beta. If you have NOT been invited it means one of three things (1) you told us you were too young to play, (2) your application was not processed (usually corrupt DxDiag), or (3) you simply didn't get the email.
While you could contact our customer support for this - the easiest method to get early access is actually to simply create a G1 account, and then sign up for the newsletter at the front of the APB page on gamersfirst.com using the same email.
We will pull people from that batch, and enable their G1 accounts for access as the next big step. I will update this post as soon as we are ready to do so (probably after some additional minor fixes)

I have talked to you before in a previous post of yours (where you talk about the next 35,000 going out) I submitted my DxDiag, am not under 18. I know I applied yet I STILL have not gotten one. I remember you saying that the last 35,000 that I should have been in, yet here I am... also, I'm signed up for the newsletter. Please, Bjorn, help me out here. I would really love to play this game.

ReplyDeleteAlot of people, me included, are suffering from "mouse jitter" or "stutter", which is the most annoying kind of lag you can have in a shooter. Are you aware of this issue? I never experienced this in the RTW version of APB.

ReplyDeleteMy friend has also reported to me about mouse lag in this current patch only (Well..The last patch the one that we were playing earlier today.) Though if this patch fixes up the temporary lag with the punkbuster I do believe your problem would be fixed. If not the problems has to me more of an internal problem. My advice to you is to close all other programs running whilst running the game.

I downloaded Gamerfirst app, installed APB Reloaded, but when i try to log in with my gamerfirst account in the game it says Error 10010. How am i supposed to login??
ReplyDeleteIt REALLY bugs me how I see people complaining here about the stupidest things. Yes, it's good to make the team aware of your issues, but please, don't act like a 9 year old girl about it. "UGH, for like, the millionth time my game won't open cause my computer is so terrible, like, OMG, G1, you like totally suck, (but Ill still play even though I say I won't because this game is too good) Okay. Coming from someone who isn't even in CB, while everyone else is, this is annoying. People are SO ungrateful. What I would do to get in this CB you wouldn't even imagine. Lol.

It seems to be triggered by missions as I can do open world crimes all day without crashing but if I'm on mission or just finished a mission it gives me a gpf

ReplyDeleteYeah, PB wasn't updated because it doesn't need to be. They fixed the lag spikes in the game. There doesn't need to be a PB update for that, just a client update.

ReplyDeleteI am 18 years of age and my machine is very capable of running this game; Core i5 760 @2.8ghz, 4 gig ddr3 ram, gtx 650 ti... so I don't understand whats going on. Not trying to cry or anything I'm just perplexed.
They are only taking those who did sign up for the Closed Beta. AFTER that they will start activating accounts who signed up for the newsletter with their G1 account.

ReplyDeleteThis PB "Fix" did nothing for me. PnkBstrB.exe in my task manager was taking up 40-50% of my CPU (with APB being the other 50%) and I was having constant terrible stutters in-game. When I closed PnkBstrB.exe all the lag went away. Unfortunately, PB also kicks you from APB if you do this. This is a huge problem.

I'm frustrated that I built a new rig to play this game and yet the cpu spikes are still like the old RTW cpu spikes... unplayable.
Any signs of hope? Any reasons I still get the spike after the 150.76 patch?
The biggest question is... Is this a priority for G1?

Although I worry about this PB error, I must say it doesn't seem common as a lot of folks are testing/playing without a peep about it.

ReplyDeletebruce.. incorrect. Devs have said that the game runs differently on different set ups. The comp might be fine and be completely stable with great internet but might have a conflict causing cpu spikes or frequent game crashes. Not all people experience the same game play.
